MURAL FAQS
How does the process work?
Your mural begins with your inquiry. You can share what you’re imagining, and we will develop a concept together. After our initial conversation, I create three bespoke sketches based on your space and budget. The sketch cost is $250 USD for three initial concepts, and $100 USD for any additional sketches. Once you choose the direction you would like to move forward with, we will schedule your mural and create a timeline that works for your space.
Why do I pay for sketches?
The sketch fee covers my design time and functions as a kill fee. If you decide not to move forward after receiving the sketches, this compensates the creative work that is already done.
How much does a mural typically cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the wall, level of detail, and location. Murals begin at $5,000 USD.
Do I have to put down a deposit for my mural?
Yes - 50% of the total project cost is required as a deposit to secure your booking. An invoice will be sent once we have agreed on the final sketch and scope.
When is final payment due?
Final payment is due upon completion of the mural.
What locations do you work in?
I’m based in Catskill, NY and frequently work in New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Toronto, Victoria and Vancouver. If you’re in one of these areas, feel free to reach out to see when I’ll next be nearby. For other locations or specific timing requests, clients are responsible for travel and accommodation costs.
How long does a mural take?
Depending on scale and complexity, murals typically take between one week and one month.
Do I need to prepare the wall?
Yes - walls must be properly cleaned and primed before I begin painting.
Do you offer revisions once the mural is completed?
Additional changes or revisions after completion are billed at $800 per day.
Is there a guarantee the mural will look exactly like the sketch?
Because murals are hand-painted and site specific, slight variations in color and detail may occur compared to the original sketch. These variations are part of the nature of the work.
Do you document your work?
Yes - I love documenting each piece as it comes to life. I retain the right to photograph and share the mural for my portfolio and future work. If you would prefer certain aspects of the project to remain private, please let me know in advance.
Who owns the rights to the mural images?
I retain the copyright to the artwork and the right to photograph and reproduce images of the mural for promotional and portfolio purposes. Clients are welcome to share the work as well, with credit.
